1. My media product uses, develops and challenges forms and
conventions of real media products by using a simple title font which is plain
black but it is eye catching and is doing the same job as any other title, in
already existing music magazines they use graffiti brightly coloured fonts and
really chav fonts whereas I have used something classy, r&b style but still
eye catching towards the audience. Secondly I have used this in my contents
page because the layout of my magazine I haven't seen yet in any magazines. I
came up with the idea after playing around and making it look bold and eye
catching but still interesting to look at by adding pictures. I have used this
through costume and props by making sure the character in the images looks very
r&b by the style of clothing she is wearing but still looks classy at the
same time as she isn't revealing any body parts and hasn't got any tattoos or
covered in piercings. My media product has used the same conventions of real
media by the name of the magazine, i have done this by having a short and easy
name which is remember able and easy to not forget many already existing
magazines have done this. I have also used forms of conventions of already
existing media products because I have used a plain and continuous house style
throughout the magazine. I have done this so it looks neat and so that without
looking at the title you would know what magazine it was, I also think it just
looks neat and professional.
2. My media product represents particular social groups by
using the correct images, artists and information for the correct audience that
my magazine is suitable for. I have done this by using the artists that I
researched and found out were most popular for certain age groups. I used
certain images that are appropriate, eye catching and suitable for the audience
which, by this I mean images that they want to see by certain artists and
images of things that they would like to see. I used interesting information
and short words that are easy for all ages of people would understand and that
wouldn't bore them whilst reading.
3. A music institution would distribute my media product
because my magazine is all about music. They would distribute my media product
because I think it would go down with the audience really well and become very
popular. I also think that it is very interesting and people would really enjoy
reading my magazine. I think it would go down with the audience really well
because i done a questionnaire to recognise what the audience would like to see
in my media product. I used the feedback to make my magazine to the best that I
could to suit everybody's needs. The institution i would use to sell my
magazine would be Bauer because my magazine is similar to what they are already
producing. My magazine would be magazine prescribed and would be made once
every week.
4. The audience for my media product would be for a female,
the age would be anybody from the age of 12 to the age of 35, and it will also
be for anybody that loves music and the artists who I have used. My product has
a wide target audience because most girls love to read any type of magazine.
This means that any girl can be suitable to read vibe because it has something
in there for everyone. I made it suit a wide variety of different people
because I think it is important for it to suit all ages instead of just suiting
a certain range of females.
5. I attracted my audience by doing independent research to
see what drew my close friend’s attention to certain magazines. I also sent out
a question air to my class peers to see what they liked and what interested
them in magazines and took that into consideration. I found that meeting people’s
interests was not as hard as i thought because I'm young and I added things
that i like to see in the media. I used bright colours that stood out but
didn't clash to draw the audience’s attention. I used big font that was easy to
read and seemed interesting because it wasn't boring to look at, and I also
used many images and pictures to make it more interesting and motivating for
the audience to read. The name of my magazine is short but appealing and
attracting to the audience. I have used lots of images too because this is what
the audience said they like the most. I put my characters in R&B clothes to go with the style of my magazine. This makes it clear on what type of magazine it is without reading through it. It means it is more eye catching for my target market audience and when they Stereotype they will be able to easily tell what type of magazine it is.
6. From the process of constructing my media product the
technologies that i have learnt are how to use blogger and to know what it is,
i have learnt how to use Photoshop which has been very challenging and
difficult at many times. I learnt how to edit images without them looking
noticeable and I have also learnt how to get images from the camera and onto
the computer to then upload to sites and documents.
7. Looking back at my preliminary task to my full product I
feel that I have learnt to make it look as professional as possible and to made
it as appealing to the audience as possible. I have found it very challenging at
times but overall I really pleased with my final outcome of this project. I
have learnt to Photoshop pictures which I never thought I could've done at the
beginning of the task. I feel like I have progressed quickly because at first I
didn't know how to do anything and now I feel as though I am capable of doing
it all over again without as many struggles as I had the first time. I taught myself how to use Photoshop by researching what the tools mean and watching toutorials on Youtube. Over all i am extremley pleased with my final outcome out this task. My preliminary task if very basic and would'nt attract the audience as much as my final outcome. I learnt from my preliminary task that you should use eye catching colours and images to attract the audiences attention.
